Stewart Counseling
Dr. Stewart works with individuals and couples to bring about emotional healing and life balance. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment/life-cycle transition issues, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders. She has been featured as a therapist on two episodes of My 600 lb Life.
Dr. Stewart utilizes a client-centered/non-judgmental approach so that clients may recognize their own strengths and skills and work together towards overcoming interpersonal stressors and hardships to improving mental health/wellness and overall quality of life.
Dr. Stewart provides scientifically supported behavioral health counseling, educational and preventative services that promote a holistic approach. Her goal is to encourage individual and family awareness with a collaborative approach that fosters stability and responsibility.
Dr. Stewart earned her B.A. in Psychology from Southern University at New Orleans, M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Akron. Dr. Stewart is also a tenured professor of counseling at Midwestern State University.
